Question 154: Allah swt said, {Have you not considered the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had given him kingship? When Abraham said, “My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death,” he said, “I give life and cause death.” Abraham said, “Indeed, Allah brings the sun up from the east, so bring it up from the west.” So the one who disbelieved was overwhelmed, and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.} ¹ What is the interpretation of the above verse? Who is the one who argued with Abraham? Is he the one who disbelieved?
Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Abundantly Merciful, the Intensely Merciful,
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds
The one who argued with Abraham pbuh is Nimrod (may Allah curse him), and the one who was overwhelmed is every disbeliever in the messages of the heavens, whether it is Nimrod or those other than Nimrod, like some of the Shia or those who claim to be Shia who fight the successor of Imam al-Mahdi pbuh and disbelieve in the messages of the heavens and the proofs of the prophets and the successors. And Imam al-Baqir pbuh described them as being the people of Thamud, may Allah curse them, embarrass them and place them in the pit of hell with the people of the first Saqifah, because they are the people of the second Saqifah, the non-working clerics of the end times who deceived the people, distorted the divine religion, legislated, permitted and forbade things according to their own desires.
Ahmed Alhasan
Successor and Messenger of Imam al-Mahdi pbuh
