Question 173: Why were Muhammad pbuhap and Ali pbuh fought by Umar and not Iblis may Allah curse them like the rest of the Prophets and Messengers pbut?
Answer: In the Name of Allah the Abundantly Merciful and Intensely Merciful
Praise due to Allah the Lord of the worlds peace be upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad the Imams and the Mahdis
This is because Iblis l.a used to ascend to the sky on a day to complain, and presented his matter and his need upon (Allah among creation)and he was Muhammad, and Ali pbuh was his door,Allah the Abundantly Merciful and Intensely Merciful among creation.
So when Muhammad pbuhap and Ali pbuh descended to the earth(door of Allah), Ibliswas prevented from the sky; because Muhammad and Ali both descended to the earth and placed on the sky “stern guards, “‘We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush” (1), (2) So Iblis (May Allah curse him) does not face Muhammad and Ali pbut that is why the teacher of Iblis faced them whom had put him in wrong”(Iblis) said: “O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,” (3), meaning the one who put me in wrong and that is the second one.
And Iblis when he saw Umro son of Huraith and what he has done with the Uromastyx (huge lizard) (4) he execessively praised Ali pbuh, so Iblis (May Allah curse him )did not face Muhammad pbuhap or even Ali pbuh, but the one whom had faced them is his teacher and it is the(ignorance and darkness); because Muhammad (the first mind) and the second(Omar) he is(ignorance). Abu Abdullah pbuh said: “Allah the Exalted and Mighty created the mind and it is the first creation from the spirits at the right of the Throne from his light, so He said to him: Turn around so he turned around, and then He said:Turn to the front so he turned to the front,so Allah the Exalted and Mighty said: I created you as a great creation and bestowed blessings with you upon all my creation,so he said: Then he created ignorance from the unpalatable sea that is dark,so He said to him: Turn around so he turned around, and then He said to him:Turn to the front so he didn’t turn to the front,so He said to him: You have become arrogant,so he then cursed him)” (5)

4-What Umru son of Huraith has done with the Uromastyx (huge lizard) was mentioned in numerous narrations, and this is one of them: From Abi Hamza from Ali son of AlHussein, from his father, he said: “When Ali pbuh needed to go to Nihrawan, the people of Kufa were assembled, and commanded them to group up at the cities, so Shibith Ibn Ribi became late and Umro son of Huraith and AlAsha’ath Ibn Qais and Jareer son of Abdullah[AlBajli], and they said: Excuse us for a few days so we can turn away from you for some of our needs and follow you. So he said to them: You already done so,woe unto you from chieftains, by Allah you don’t have a need so you can turn away from it,and I know what is in your hearts and I will reveal it, you want to weaken me with the people, as if I can see you heading to the courtyard while you spread[your carpet] for food, a Uromastyx passes by, so you order your boys and then they catch it,and so you will then put me down and pay allegiance to him” AlKhara’ej and Jara’eh LilRawandi v.2 p.225 h.70
