Signs of Allah

Question 61: What is the interpretation of this noble verse, {That [is so]. And whoever honors the Signs of Allah – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.} [Quran 22:32] What is the meaning of the Signs of Allah?

Answer: In the Name of Allah, the Abundantly Merciful, the Intensely Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may the peace and prayers of Allah be upon Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis.

The Signs of Allah are the evidence towards Allah swt, and among them are Al-Safa and Al-Marwa; because between them the power/ability of Allah swt manifested to Adam and Eve and Abraham and Hajar pbut, and consequently, to all of the people. So for Abraham and Hajar pbut it was through the well of Zam Zam, and for Adam and Eve it was when Adam descended upon the mountain of Safa, and Eve upon the mountain of Marwa, and through the convergence of these two mountains Adam and Eve, the human life was produced upon this earth, just as the well of Zam Zam was produced later on.

So during the pilgrimage there is an honoring of the signs of Allah, and in honoring them there is an honoring of the power/ability of Allah in the heart of the human being. And among the signs of Allah is the mountain of ‘Arafat, Al-Mash’ar, Al-Haram, and the traces of the prophets, messengers and successors pbut, and they themselves pbut are the greatest signs of Allah. Thus, in their mentioning is an honor of the greatest signs of Allah swt.

And they are called signs; because the believing human being senses the power/ability of Allah which manifested through them in his heart.
