Allah does not punish them if you are among them

Question 85: What is the meaning of the Most High: “And Allah does not punish them if you are among them and Allah does not punish them while they were repenting”?

Answer: The tradition of Allah the Exalted and Mighty is that the materialistic miracle contains a punishment, thus, simply by lying against it – punishment will fall.Hence, the tradition of Allah the Exalted and Mighty is to send down the punishment to the nations that lie against the messenger.After when the messenger uses up all the means he has to propagate and guide them with-as for the situation of Nooh and Hood pbut-their miracles were only the punishment that destroyed the tribes that lied against them. But there are two ways to prevent the punishment:

First:It is the prayer (dua) of the messenger and him requesting from Allah the
Exalted and Mighty to lift the punishment from the nation that he was responsible of to propagate towards and guide them,as this matter takes upon him a struggle and great distress because he will bear more lies ,mocking, denegration that normally the messenger faces from the nation that lie against him. And this prayer that lifts the punishment from the transgressing nation did not happen except from the Messenger of Allah Muhammad pbuhap “And Allah does not punish them if you are among them and Allah does not punish them while they were repenting”meaning while you are praying to lift the punishment from them.

The second matter that lifts the punishment is: repentence and forgiveness from the nation,and this matter also never occured except from the tribe of Jonas(Yunus)when they repented and asked for forgiveness from Allah after when the punishment has shadowed them “And if it wasn’t for a village that believed and its’ faith has benefited it-except Jonas when they believed we cleared away the humiliating punishement from them in this world and so we made them enjoy for a while” SuratYunus: 98. And so He lifted the punishment from them,after when they weeped in repentance and asked for forgiveness to Allah the Exalted and Mighty “And Allah does not punish them while they were repenting” Surat Anfal:33
